Dr Günter Grimm is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Grimm's Global Macro Aggregator (GGMA), a Zürich-based market-intelligence firm he established in 2025. GGMA's flagship product, GGMA Squawk & Chat, is a real-time macro squawk and live-chat service delivered via the web and as a mobile application, serving institutional traders, hedge funds, family offices, asset managers, corporate treasuries, brokers, and private investors worldwide. The platform pairs three decades of buy- and sell-side macro expertise with proprietary technology, offering 24/7 coverage across foreign exchange, fixed income, equities, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and global macro events in more than 120 countries.
The idea for GGMA came from something the wider market never saw. During his years at UBS and Credit Suisse, Dr Grimm saw firsthand that the real edge was a live macro squawk — a voice in your ear calling each market-moving headline the instant it broke and explaining why it mattered. At Credit Suisse, as a trading strategist, he launched a similar squawk service for the bank's trading and sales desks. Yet clients who most needed that edge could rarely access it. GGMA Squawk was built to open it to everyone.
Dr Grimm has more than 30 years of experience across global FICC markets, with senior strategy, portfolio management, and institutional sales roles at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, JPMorgan, UBS, Credit Suisse, Royal Bank of Scotland, UniCredit, Record Currency Management, and HypoVereinsbank, based in London, Munich, and Zürich. At Goldman Sachs Asset Management, he was a member of the currency team responsible for USD 30 billion in assets, whose Global Currency Fund was ranked number one in the Financial Times survey in July 2001. Across his career, he built and led institutional FX sales and macro-advisory teams throughout Europe, developed the quantitative valuation frameworks and forecasting models clients traded on, and authored widely followed strategy publications — including the UBS and Credit Suisse Macro Daily — and contributed to the Credit Suisse FX Compass.
A Swiss-German dual national based in Zürich, Dr Grimm brings a continental-European lens to global macro. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Universität Münster — with a doctoral thesis, Exchange Rate Forecasting with Neural Networks, completed as a joint venture between Siemens AG and HypoVereinsbank — and is a CFA charterholder. His work is driven by the conviction that data, technology, and rigorous quantitative thinking should turn information into actionable insight rather than overwhelm the decision-maker.
